Fox is a predatory mammal which belongs to the canine family. It is a distant relative of both the wolf and the domestic dog.

The size of the fox depends on its species and varies from 18 cm (the smallest fox - fenech) to 90 cm. The weight of the fox varies from 0.7 to 10 kg. Foxes are distinguished by a special generic feature: an elongated snout and an elongated body with short limbs.

The tricky fox, the foxy fox is one of the popular characters of Slavic mythology along with the wolf and the bear. Fox is a frequent character of many folk tales, in which the image of this beast is strongly associated with cunning, finesse, and wiliness.
