Snow White is the young princess of the fictional German kingdom. She is very beautiful, nice and kind. She was hiding from her evil queen stepmother at the seven dwarfs’ home. The she married Prince Ferdinand.

The cartoon is a screen version of the famous German fairy tale written by the Brothers Grimm. The tale is about Snow White, a girl who lived in a castle with an evil queen stepmother that was very proud of her beauty. The envious woman decided to destroy her lovely stepdaughter after magic mirror told her that Snow White had become the most beautiful girl in the world. But the poor girl didn’t die in the forest. On the contrary, she met real friends there - seven funny dwarfs named Grumpy, Dopey, Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy and Sleepy.

“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was acknowledged as the best picture of 1938 but was denied for an Oscar nomination. Instead, the film academy instituted a special award - a statuette in the form of a big "Oscar" surrounded by seven small "Oscars". The award was presented to Disney by the most famous actress of those years, Shirley Temp. Snow White won the main prize at the Venice Film Festival, no other animated picture has ever won such an award. A new era of animation began with the release of the cartoon. The picture itself is rightfully the main treasure among Disney masterpieces.
